THE EMPTY TOMB AND THE RISEN CHRIST

Christians all over the world celebrated this year's Easter Sunday on the 21st April 2019.Beginning from March 6th some Orthodox Christian denominations started by commemorating the Lenten season with the Ash-wednesday which is beginning of 40days Fasting(Jesus's Fasting in the wilderness). During this season faithfuls are reminded on the need to eschew sin in whatever form and live a worthy Christ like life just like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This 40days of Fasting culminates on Palm Sunday the day Jesus entered into Jerusalem like a King riding a Colt and was received with pomp and pageantry, the week following the palm sunday is the Holy week and the Thursday of that Holy week is known as the Maundy Thursday and during this service the washing of the disciples feet is reenacted by the Priest in charge to show Christ's humility. Then comes the Good Friday service that commemorates Christ's crucifixion, from facing judgement before the leaders, carrying his Cross to Golgotha and Crucifixion and eventually death on the Cross, and his Glorious Resurrection on Easter Sunday morning.                                          One thing stands out in this story for me is the fact that Jesus rose from the dead after defeating and over coming death, likewise every negative situation in our lives for now is temporary and would remain as long we permit it stay,if Jesus had refused to leave the Tomb then we wouldn't have any Christianity to profess today.

Therefore in whatever unfavorable situation we may find ourselves the decision to remain or leave it lies basically with us. The facts on ground might be so disheartening as to discourage us from making a bold move but we must remember that giving up is never the answer. Besides the world is waiting and watching for Men and Women of valor who their "Cross" and "Tomb" will not prevent them from breaking forth, there are lives to be affected positively by our successes imagine what happens to such destinies when we refuse to leave the"Tomb"? Jesus has shown us that we can leave the Tomb when we decide to and by his grace. Don't let any Tomb hold you back,Believe in God and his Son Jesus Christ and believe in your ability to overcome any situation at all.
Tiger Woods the professional and internationally renowned golfer who rose to fame and remained number one for almost a decade fell from grace at some point in his life. His wife divorced him because of an adulterous affair and was awarded millions of dollars from his estate,he became bankrupt, his biggest sponsors deserted him and he even lost his Dad at some point too.He was ranked about 1900th as a golfer but last week he bounced back to the top and reclaimed his lost position,he took a stand and decided to leave the"Tomb" of failure and disappointments that held him down.

As the world celebrated Easter Sunday of 2019 terrorists struck again in Benue state Nigeria,Sri-Lanka where more than 200 lives were lost. People who went to church to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ were killed like animals. We condemn this dastardly act and pray for the souls of the dead to find eternal rest with their maker and consolation to the loved ones they left behind. Christ taught us to love even when it seems UNREASONABLE TO LOVE! We pray that those behind these killings will come to repentance and accept Jesus.   LOVE IS THE GREATEST OF ALL!!
