WORLD POLIO DAY!!!
Every October 24th is been celebrated as World Polio Day and 2019 isn't an exception. As usual and a custom with Rotary International Club, Zone 9142 Aba joined other Rotarians world wide to celebrate it. The END POLIO WALK today took Rotarians, Partners and friends of Rotary round the Aba metropolis to sensitize everyone on the need get their children and wards vaccinated to prevent Polio. Rotary Club of Umungasi(ROTANGASI my club)donated Polio Vaccination Aprons to health workers who move around to vaccinate children, and a Polio Eradication Billboard to Aba North LGA Abia state Nigeria.The Aprons is for easy identification as they visit homes and schools to vaccinate. One of Rotary International's objectives is to help eradicate Polio mellitus from the world. One way is to create awareness of the potential transmission methods and also vaccinate the children who are prone to the disease. United Nations and World Health organization are working hand in gloves with Countries,Religious and Charity organizations to totally eradicate Polio and all other Diseases threatening humanity. We must play our parts for this journey to be successful. Our financial donations will go a long way to help provide the necessary things needed like the Vaccines, Aprons etc
