MARCH OF MIXED EMOTIONS

As we gradually leave behind March 2019 in few hours, we can all agree that this year's March came with a lot of mixed emotions. These emotions vary from Joy, Sadness, Pains, Celebration,Mourning and even compassion etc. in Nigeria and all over the world.
The general elections in Nigeria spilled over into March due to a one week postponement, so the chaos that characterized the Presidential election in February continued in the March 9th Governorship elections. Sunday March 10th after the elections of Saturday the world received the shocking news of the Ethiopian Airline Boeing 737 Max crash by 8:16am. Two Nigerian Professors were amongst the 157 dead passengers and crew members, the world was thrown into mourning because people of different Nationalities were victims with Kenya worst hit. While we were yet grieving a white Supremacist lone shooter on 15th March entered two mosques in Christchurch New Zealand and shot to death 50 worshippers including women and children.

Meanwhile the gubernatorial elections held in Nigeria were already producing winners whom their supporters were jubilating and celebrating the success of their candidates at the polls. In the midst of the celebrations(winners) and sadness(losers) far away in the Southern part of Africa  Mozambique our brothers/sisters suffered a serious natural disaster that destroyed precious lives and properties worth millions of dollars. Those who survived were rendered homeless without anything to call their own. A poor widow who wasn't affected by the natural disaster trekked miles on foot to deliver supplies, talk about showing love to the disadvantaged this poor widow just proved that you don't need to have everything in order to lend a helping hand to the needy.
Also in Nigeria an indigent primary 2 pupil became an internet sensation when her neighbor recorded her conversation with the little girl on her way from school after she was sent out of school because she was owing. The little girl preferred to be flogged rather than been sent from school, immediately her story went viral many well meaning Nigerians contributed to pay her school fees and even to sponsor her Tertiary education.

Lastly Mothering Sunday celebration of some Christian denominations on the 31st of March. The role of Christian Mothers in the family and lives of those around them can never be over emphasized. The Godly Mother will make a Godly generation, most women today cannot be described as Mothers simply because they conceived and gave birth to children,so many take for granted the role they need to play in the lives of their children and wards. We cannot give what we don't have so also Godly Mothers can only bequeath Godly generation. We urge Mothers not to shift their roles to teachers and relatives, the society today is suffering as a result of many mistakes of Mothers in the past.

As we end this month today we can only pray to God the Almighty to console and comfort the bereaved, reward every sacrifice of love, give unto men hearts that will only seek to Love and protect each other against evil and strength to the weak and weary. May God also bless our homes with women who know the heart beat of God and will do everything to raise a Godly generation to the glory of God.
